Wisconsin’s Economy Today

The Department of Revenue launched the fourth video from the series Wisconsin’s Economy Today with Department of Revenue Chief Economist John Koskinen. It discusses the high rate of labor force participation in Wisconsin. Throughout the year, John travels around Wisconsin giving presentations on the state of the Wisconsin economy. With a three percent unemployment rate and the lowest tax burden in 50 years, Wisconsin’s economy is the best it’s been in 18 years.

After they hear one of his presentations, people often ask John how they can help get the word out about the good things going on in Wisconsin. In response to that question, a video series has been created that will address how Wisconsin stacks up in the areas of:
• Job growth
• Labor force participation rate
• Real GDP
• Real wages
• Standard of living
• Entrepreneurship
• Domestic migration
• Educational attainment
• Tax burden
• Housing
• Poverty
• Health Insurance

Feel free to share these videos with others or in any of your outreach materials. Most are under two minutes and can be found at https://www.revenue.wi.gov/Pages/MediaRoom/EconomyToday.aspx
