Edible Startup Summit

$50The Edible Startup Summit is back! Join start-up food businesses, resource people and industry experts for this intensive training program on starting, maintaining, and expanding a food business. The two-day Summit will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 8:00 a.m.-4:20 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 18, 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at the American Family Training Center in Madison.
Summit topics include:
- Trends in the food sector
- Business and financial planning
- Branding
- Marketing
- Business incorporation
- Food Safety & Licensing
- Working with retailers and distributors
- Financing your business
Attendees will hear from seasoned entrepreneurs in two panels:
Day One: “Getting Started: product development, business planning, and marketing.”
Day Two: “Scaling up: distribution, social media & business sustainability.”
Co-hosted by DATCP’s Agriculture and Food Center’s Buy Local Buy Wisconsin program and Dane County UW-Extension, the Edible Startup Summit is ideal for people who have been considering starting a local food business, those who are in the early stages of development, and for food businesses seeking to expand or diversify. Entrepreneurs who attend will leave with ideas and a head start on business planning, a network of entrepreneur friends, and a resource list of people and organizations who can help you with your venture.
The registration fee for one day of Edible Startup Summit is $50. Registration closes on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. Morning snack/coffee and lunch is included in the price.
